About

Hello there! I’m Darien Dey Mason, a senior at George Mason University majoring in Conflict Analysis and Resolution with a minor in Intelligence Studies. My journey into this field traces back to my early experiences, notably when I participated in Model United Nations and clinched the best delegate award during my 7th Grade in South Africa, Johannesburg. This event ignited my passion for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, exposing me to the dynamic and formal international environment. From the intricate processes of negotiation and collaboration to the thrill of public speaking and the tangible impact on real-world conflicts, the experience left an indelible mark on me. I wholeheartedly recommend delving into the workings of the United Nations for anyone interested in understanding and addressing global issues. My fascination with intelligence studies stems from a childhood captivated by spy thrillers and espionage tales. Watching James Bond, Jason Bourne, and similar movies fueled my intrigue in the workings of agencies like the CIA. This interest, coupled with my desire to delve deeper into understanding conflict dynamics, led me to pursue a minor in intelligence studies. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a Master’s in Education Counseling, specializing in Mental Health Counseling, this upcoming summer. This choice reflects my commitment to enhancing my skills in conflict resolution and furthering the mission of my non-profit organization, the Conflict Control Center – C3. Through C3, I aim to provide conflict analysis and resolution services to underprivileged communities, fostering transformation from discord to resolution. Having lived in various countries such as Senegal, South Africa, the Philippines, Greece, China, France, Denmark, and now the United States, I’ve gained invaluable insights into diversity, inclusion, and cultural appreciation. While each place has its unique charm, South Africa holds a special place in my heart, although nothing quite compares to the feeling of home in the United States. Growing up in a diplomatic family, courtesy of my parents’ work with the State Department, instilled in me a global perspective and a desire to pursue impactful roles within organizations like the State Department, the United Nations, or the CIA. However, I view these experiences as stepping stones toward my ultimate goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur. My vision includes owning multiple businesses, both domestic and international, with the aim of making a significant annual income. In essence, I wear many hats – conflict analyst and resolver, aspiring secret agent, nonprofit founder, and budding entrepreneur. But above all, I cherish the title of being a Knight of the Masonic Templars, a reflection of my values and commitments..
